Preparation of my happiness project
I want to be happier. Like I already said here, it's a way to make other happier as well. So I've been thinking about a way to work toward my own happiness.
That's why I want to start an happiness project. There was a book by Gretchen Rubin that was talking about planning such a project. And today I want to share what I've done to prepare this said project.
The monthly goals of Gretchen Rubin in her book are the following:
- January: Boost Energy - Vitality
- February: Remember Love - Marriage
- March: Aim Higher - Work
- April: Lighten up - Parenthood
- May: Be Serious About Play - Leisure
- June: Make Time for Friends - Friendship
- July: Buy Some Happiness - Money
- August: Contemplate the Heavens - Eternity
- September: Pursue a Passion - Books
- October: Pay Attention - Mindfulness
- November: Keep a Contented Heart - Attitude
- December: Boot Camp Perfect - Happiness
I've been thinking a lot about those resolutions. And I've been asking myself a lot of questions. What could be the aspect of my life that I want to care about? What make me feel good? Or make me feel bad? What don't feel right about my life? What do I want to change? Where do I feel like I'm growing or improving?
I've been removing, adding and changing the original monthly goals. Trying to find out what is it that I really need, that I really want. Under there are the different monthly goals I came up with.
- Boost Energy - Vitality
- Don't forget important ones - Love
- Aim Higher - Work
- Put food on the table - Money
- Go out of your comfort zone - Learn
- Lighten up - Mood
- Express your creativity - Leisure
- Open up and don't hide - Friendship
- Go toward your dream - Writing
- Pay Attention - Mindfulness
- Keep a Contented Heart - Attitude
- Master quest - Happiness
I don't think I will think about every resolutions for each month right now. I will be too much work and I will never actually start my happiness project. If I prepare everything right now, I will overthink and prepare until I feel ready to start the project. But I will never feel ready to start.
I don't want to stay stuck in months of preparations. So I'll start right now, I won't wait too much. I'll figure out things later on.
So let us begin the first month of my happiness project.
Month 01 - Boost Energy
Vitality
- Go to sleep at 9 p.m.
- Exercise
- Go out for 20 minutes everyday
- Toss, Restore, Organize
- Act how you want to feel
I will describe or think more about each resolution afterward. I could also change them depending on what I learn or understand in the future. Well I'll do my best to stick to those resolutions everyday. And naturally, I'll share my insights on my blog.
