Reading thoughts - The Happiness Project
I started to read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin.
In this book she talk about how to change you life. She describe what is a happiness project, talk about how to prepare one and also show how to keep your resolutions. But the twist is, we will learn about all of this while following Gretchen Rubin's own happiness project. And that's because she noticed that she learn more from a person's story than from studies or sources describing the process.
With her book Gretchen Rubin encourage us to start our own happiness project. "Whenever you read this, and wherever you are, you are in the right place to begin", she say in her book.
That's the reason I want to start my own happiness project. I feel like there is so much I need to take into account, so much to improve and so much bad habits to stop in order to be happier. But the thing is I am never able to keep doing the right things for a long time. I feel like I am doing too much at once, and that I end up doing nothing.
But the idea that I find interesting in this book is how she split her goals and achieve them. The first thing to do is to write a goal per month and create resolutions for each goals. Then, during the first month, trying to achieve only that month resolutions everyday. The following month we add the next sets of resolutions, trying to not fail the old ones. And by December we will try to achieve all of the resolutions we wrote.
It's cool because it will prevent me from trying to achieve too much at the same time. I will improve a little bit everyday, going toward my goal of being happier. But there will be less chances for me to fail.
The first step that I have to do is to prepare my own project, my sets of goals. I'll take some time to think about my monthly goals, and the associated resolutions. I will surely write about it on this blog, so I hope that you'll stay tuned! You should start reading The Happiness Project if you can! It's a great book!
Thank you for reading my post! Have a nice day :)
