Writing some side stories

"You should write a book, because there this always something happening in your life." That's what one friend of mine told me not long ago.

That's because when I tell my friends a story they always seem dumbfounded by them. Their reactions are always funny and I've never quite understood why. They are sometimes interested by the most mundane events I have lived. Stories that seem quite normal to me.1

They sometimes even make fun of me because I don't understand what is odd in my stories!

But my friend's words are still on my mind. Isn't that what some of my posts could be about? For example, I could write about a subject that is more important to me, like important discussion and the progress I made in my goals. And then I could add some silly side stories to soften the mood of this blog! That seemed like a funny idea to me.

But there are two things I am concerned about. Firstly, I don't want anyone in those stories to be recognized, because I don't want to create any problems for me or them. Secondly, I am scared that my stories aren't that interesting, because I am not the best one at knowing what would interest people.

Then I could simply write stories that are "Inspired by true events" ! So that I can add some fictional details for dramatic effect. So that if one day someone finds out about who I am talking about, that person can just say "Nu-uh that is not true!". So that they aren't associated with any stories if they are not comfortable with it!

I could also create fictional characters to represent real-life ones, or add people that weren't in the real story, or take-out some... critical details. I could even replace one person with another one! So it's really really hard to guess what really happened and what didn't!

One thing I am also thinking about doing is to make some of my friends read my drafts! So that they can give me some advice on my stories! Plus, it's a great exercise to make my writing skills improve.

So in the next few weeks you will surely see some side stories pop up on my blog!

Well, thank you very much for reading my words.
With a lot of appreciation - The Muliama
